This configuration embodies the Acoustic Signature philosophy at its most accomplished within the Classic range. The Verona Neo offers highly evolved technology and outstanding performance, in a timeless design available in piano black lacquer or Makassar wood. maPlatine.com delivers the whole system mounted, wired and aligned in our workshop, ready to accept the cartridge of your choice.
The Verona Neo: classic elegance, cutting-edge technology
The Acoustic Signature Verona Neo presents itself in a classic form, but of an impressive size (55 x 45 cm) that reflects its design for one or two tonearms of 9 or 12 inches. It weighs a substantial 33 kg. Available in two superb finishes — Makassar wood or piano black lacquer (7 coats) — the Verona Neo is the perfect synthesis between ultramodern technology and classic design. Its sophisticated and very massive chassis is composed of three layers of MDF, steel and plywood press-bonded with a specific flexible adhesive.
The 50 mm solid aluminum platter, 310 mm in diameter and weighing close to 11 kg, features 8 polished brass Silencer modules that increase inertia and reduce internal resonances. A composite damping mat completes the assembly. The platter spins on an ultra-precise DTD® spindle housed in a virtually indestructible Dura Turn Diamond® bearing, guaranteed for 15 years. This mechanism sets a new benchmark in maintenance, residual noise and longevity.
Belt drive is entrusted to two silent 2-coil / 24-pole AC motors, controlled by AVC Level III technology — the highest level in the entire Neo range. This real-time digital correction of motor signal phase shifts neutralizes the primary cause of residual vibrations in synchronous motors, with maximum efficiency thanks to Level III's specific software and components. An integrated control unit connected to the ultra-stable multi-voltage external DMC-20 power supply manages start-up and speed selection between 33 and 45 rpm.
The TA-2000 Neo 12-inch: musicality, precision, performance
The TA-2000 Neo is the third tonearm in the Acoustic Signature range, designed and manufactured in Germany with the same standards as higher-end models. Its 12-inch version features an effective mass of 12.6 g — a versatility particularly appreciated for those who wish to evolve their installation over time. It accommodates both MM and MC cartridges, though the latter are especially recommended on a tonearm of this quality.
The double-layer carbon tube ensures rigidity and damping. High-precision miniature SKF ball bearings on a machined stainless steel spindle offer flawless tracking. The solid brass counterweight provides the necessary mass with natural damping. Anti-skating correction is applied via a dial to the right of the tonearm pivot, for a precise and long-lasting adjustment.
The solid aluminum headshell accepts the vast majority of cartridges on the market and allows precise alignment and overhang adjustment. Mogami internal wiring, 24k gold-plated connectors, Audioquest PSC Din 5-pin/RCA cable included. REGA 3-point and SME mounts, both with precise VTA adjustment, included.
Listening: fluidity, neutrality, musicality
The Verona Neo stands out for its remarkable fluidity of playback. Added to this is an exceptionally lively and dynamic sound. The Acoustic Signature reproduces music with ease and fluency, which makes you want to listen to records on repeat. It also offers excellent neutrality and a surprising realism that transports you directly into the studio or the recording hall. The Verona Neo effortlessly displays a vast soundstage that remains very precise and defined.
The TA-2000 Neo offers a clear and detailed playback without ever being clinical. It tends to sound much more neutral and realistic than competing tonearms. It keeps the cartridge perfectly in the groove without adding any coloration. Dynamics are exceptional across the entire spectrum and accompanied by fine nuance and remarkable fluidity. The soundstage is generously wide and deep, yet remains surprisingly precise. The Verona Neo's exceptionally well-built chassis allows the tonearm to express itself fully. A reference.
