The Acoustic Signature Hurricane Neo presents itself in the form of a three-branched star. Despite remaining an easily accommodated size, it weighs over 30 kg. The 50 mm thick solid aluminum chassis, available in black or natural aluminum, is 30% more massive than previous Hurricane versions, providing a rigidity and mass that limit resonances and vibrations to a maximum. The chassis rests on 3 sorbothane gel-damped feet, with a precise and simple height adjustment.

The 50 mm solid aluminum platter, weighing 11 kg, features 8 Silencer modules that increase inertia and reduce internal resonances. A fiber/carbon composite damping mat completes the assembly. The platter spins on an ultra-precise DTD® spindle housed in a virtually indestructible Dura Turn Diamond® bearing, guaranteed for 15 years. This mechanism sets a new benchmark in maintenance, residual noise and longevity.

Belt drive is entrusted to two silent 2-coil / 24-pole AC motors, controlled by AVC Level I technology exclusive to the Neo range. This real-time digital correction of motor signal phase shifts neutralizes the primary cause of residual vibrations in synchronous motors. An independent control unit connected to the ultra-stable multi-voltage external DMC-20 power supply manages start-up and speed selection between 33 and 45 rpm.

It accommodates both MM and MC cartridges, though the latter are especially recommended on a tonearm of this quality.

The double-layer carbon tube ensures rigidity and damping. High-precision miniature ball bearings on a stainless steel spindle offer flawless tracking. The solid brass counterweight provides the necessary mass with natural damping, and the side-weight anti-skating puts its faith in lasting simplicity: no spring to wear out, no adjustment to redo.
