The Tornado Neo Silver: engineering laid bare

The tripod chassis in 45 mm solid aluminium, here in natural untreated finish, showcases the mass and machining precision that define Acoustic Signature's signature. The plinth is 30 % more massive than pre-Neo versions, with a total weight exceeding 26 kg. Three sorbothane-damped feet provide isolation, with precise height adjustment.

The 50 mm aluminium platter, weighing 11 kg, hosts 4 Silencer modules dissipating internal resonances. The ultra-precise DTD® spindle turns inside the Dura Turn Diamond® bearing, a mechanism backed by a 15-year warranty.

The AC motor with 2 coils / 24 poles, externally powered, integrates the Level 1 AVC technology specific to the Neo range: real-time digital correction of motor phase shifts that drastically reduces residual vibrations. The separate control unit handles 33 and 45 rpm via the DMC-20 power supply.

The TA-1000 Neo 12-inch: mechanical honesty

With 370 mm effective length and 12.3 g effective mass, the 12-inch TA-1000 is designed for high-end MC cartridges. Its double-layer carbon tube combines rigidity with damping, for remarkably low intrinsic resonance.

The high-precision miniature ball bearings, free of play, are mounted on a machined stainless-steel shaft. The solid brass counterweight brings necessary mass with natural damping, and the lateral weight anti-skating housed in a casing offers precise and lasting adjustment, sheltered from accidental handling. The solid aluminium headshell accepts most cartridges.

On the electrical side: internal Mogami studio-grade copper wiring, 24k gold-plated cartridge connectors, and supplied Audioquest PSC DIN/RCA cable. REGA 3-point and SME mounts both included, both with VTA adjustment.
