This bundle offer you a fully realised analogue solution, combining the Acoustic Signature Tornado Neo in natural aluminium finish with the remarkable TA-2000 Neo 12-inch tonearm — the pairing recommended by the German manufacturer to fully exploit the Tornado's potential. A carefully considered combination, delivered pre-mounted and aligned by our team. All you have to do is place it on your shelf, choose your cartridge and dive into your records.
The Tornado Neo is the most affordable model in the German manufacturer's "Tripod" line. Yet it is already a thoroughly accomplished design that incorporates most of the innovations from the Hurricane Neo, delivering remarkable performance in its price category.
Plinth and platter
The Tornado Neo takes the form of a three-legged star. Despite its compact and easily integrated footprint, it tips the scales at over 26 kg! The 45 mm-thick solid aluminium plinth is offered here in natural aluminium finish. This new chassis is 30 % more massive than previous versions, providing the rigidity and mass needed to minimise resonance and vibration.
The plinth rests on three feet damped by a sorbothane-based gel, with precise and easy height adjustment. The 50 mm solid aluminium platter, weighing 11 kg, hosts 4 Silencers that increase inertia and reduce internal resonances. It is topped with a composite mat (carbon-style) that is both rigid and damping. The platter sits on a subplatter fitted with an ultra-precise DTD® spindle integrated into a Dura Turn Diamond® bearing — ultra-rigid and virtually indestructible, setting a new benchmark for low noise, longevity and maintenance, backed by a 15-year warranty.
Motor and electronics
Acoustic Signature has designed a silent AC motor with 2 coils and 24 poles, externally powered by a multi-voltage stabilised supply. It is paired with a digital controller that includes Level 1 AVC technology (Automatic Vibration Control), one of the major innovations of the Neo line. AVC measures and automatically corrects motor signal phase shifts in real time, drastically reducing the vibrations typically caused by manufacturing tolerances in synchronous motors.
A separate control unit handles startup and 33/45 rpm speed selection. It connects to the Acoustic Signature DMC-20 power supply via an RJ45 cable.
Tube and pivots
In its 12-inch version, the TA-2000 Neo offers an effective length of 370 mm for an effective mass of 12.6 g, making it particularly well suited to high-end MC cartridges — the ideal partner for the Tornado Neo. It features a dual carbon tube that delivers excellent rigidity and very low resonance.
Tracking is handled by miniature SKF ball bearings paired with a machined stainless-steel shaft, ensuring both robustness and perfect fluidity. The counterweight is fully machined from a block of high-purity brass, and anti-skating is adjusted via a dial to the right of the arm pivot. The solid aluminium headshell allows precise alignment and overhang adjustment, and is compatible with the vast majority of cartridges on the market. The fully machined cueing lift adds precision and ease of use.
Wiring and mounting
Internal wiring is handled by Japanese specialist Mogami in studio-grade copper, with 24k gold-plated cartridge connectors. The arm comes with a beautiful DIN 5-pin/RCA cable in PSC copper from American manufacturer Audioquest.
The TA-2000 ships with a 3-point REGA mount that adds precise VTA adjustment, as well as an SME-style mount offering the same vertical tracking angle adjustments. A versatility that makes it compatible with virtually any setup.
A synergy designed and aligned by our team
This is the real value of the bundle: the TA-2000 Neo 12-inch tonearm is mounted and aligned on the Tornado Neo in our workshop, ready to receive the cartridge of your choice. The 12-inch version brings a notable geometric advantage — reduced tracking angle, lower distortion, more accurate tracing — that fully expresses itself on a chassis as rigid and inert as the Tornado's.
A pairing recommended by Acoustic Signature itself, and one we have extensively tested and listened to.
Sound: precision, transparency and emotion
In listening, the Tornado Neo reveals remarkable dynamics across the entire spectrum, particularly impressive on physical passages. The presentation is holographic, clear and transparent. On orchestral masses, it analyses, focuses and renders the intensity and subtlety of each instrument with finesse, while delivering the emotional weight needed for total immersion. You also find that warmth characteristic of the brand, supported by deeper bass than on competing turntables — without ever feeling heavy. Transients are remarkably fast, the openness surprising.
The TA-2000 Neo brings a remarkable level of precision and definition to this combination, with no coloration. Its high-end bearings, free of play, allow the cartridge to follow every detail of the groove with very low noise floor. The presentation is clear and detailed without ever sounding clinical: the arm sounds more neutral and lifelike than most of its competitors, many of which cost twice as much. Dynamics are exceptional, fluidity remarkable, and the soundstage is generous in both depth and width while retaining surprising precision.
The Tornado Neo + TA-2000 Neo 12-inch combination offers a neutrality that lets each record's unique character come through, while staying faithful to the original recording.
Thanks to its optimised construction and the improvements brought by the Neo line, the Tornado Neo delivers exceptional performance in its category. Paired with the TA-2000 Neo in 12-inch, it appears today to have no real competition.
