With this Pro-Ject T1 turntable, the Austrian manufacturer wanted to democratize its turntable range, while offering manufacture and restitution quality of reference at this price.
Of course, it requires a turntable that is entirely made in Europe and that fights against "Made in China" competitors! And that is laudable, but not necessarily easy...
PRO-JECT T1: CHASSIS AND FINISH
The whole rests on a lacquered or veneered MDF plinth, following the finish. It is rigid and not very sensitive to resonance.
There is no plastic that spoils the party, unlike some of its competitors.
Damping stands limit the vibration of the base in the turntable.
We have in hands the wood finish of this Pro-Ject T1. And we must admit that this “small” turntable is pretty! The wood finish is worthy of models that double its price.
PRO-JECT T1: PLATTER
For economic reasons, Pro-Ject opted for a 8mm thick glass platter for this T1.
In terms of resonance the glass is not the best option. However, it has various advantages: easy to produce and perfectly plan, its mass gives it excellent inertia and the finish is very design! At an affordable price...
However, Pro-Ject reports that a silica treatment has limited the resonances of the platter. And above all, the sub-platter is insensitive to resonances.
The bearing and spindle are made of stainless steel and brass. They are made with a tolerance of 0.001 mm!
PRO-JECT T1: TONEARM AND PHONO CARTRIDGE
The tonearm chosen by the manufacturer is the tonearm of the Essential II turntable, but here in a slightly simplified version.
This 8.6” length tonearm is made of aluminium and manufactured in one piece. It is equipped with low-friction bearings.
Phono cables designed by Pro-Ject are captive but of an excellent quality. They receive very effective shielding and offer low resistance and capacity.
As standard, the Pro-Ject T1 is mounted with the famous Ortofon OM5e MM cartridge. This cartridge is now a classic cartridge and can be upgrade in future via an OM10 stylus.

The Pro-Ject T1 is of course delivered with a translucent cover and a platter mat made of felt.
PRO-JECT T1: SET UP
It is easy to set up, just connect it into a phono input and press the power button.
For our part, of course we check the settings of the phono cartridge and the tonearm, which are often quite approximated, before shipping it to you.
PRO-JECT T1: TEST AND LISTENING
The restitution is surprising for a vinyl record player of this range and simplicity. It is not just beautiful to look at, it is also very efficient!
The bass is surprising by its density and presence. Of course, it does not damage the well-made mid-range and treble!
The sound scene is not the largest on the market but it is realistic and precise.
We also appreciate the fluidity of the message and the excellent general balance.
You have understood it, this Pro-Ject T1 turntable at this price is a true bargain! Above all, it makes bulwark for soulless entry-level products without musicality that disappoint listeners.
Recommended to demanding music lovers with a small budget!

Énorme
Pour une platine entrée de gamme (voir milieu de gamme pour ma part), je trouve que le son son est vraiment génial. Un plaisir de pouvoir réécouter ses vinyles
Satisfait
Très beau design, j’avais choisi la finition walnut . La platine est pré réglée et c’est très agréable de pouvoir brancher et écouter ses vinyles sans galérer. L’équipe ma platine est vraiment disponible, la communication, les délais, le suivi, tout est parfait. Concernant le son je suis très satisfait mais je n’ai pas trop de recul car étant novice ou presque (j’ai fait mes armes sur la platine d’un ami une Thorens TD 160 super…).
Le seul petit point négatif de cette project T1 semble être la manipulation du capot. En effet, la platine étant relativement légère, il est difficile de rabattre le capot pendant la lecture sans la faire bouger…
Mais pour une entrée de gamme je pense avoir fait le bon choix !

Content de retrouver mes vieux vinyles (après nettoyage SPIN CLEAN) avec une très bonne qualité de son.

J’ai acheté cette platine pour pouvoir ré écouter mes vieux vinyles. Je ne suis pas un audiophile exigeant et mon portefeuille n’est pas extensible à l’infini, je voulais juste une bonne platine et j’ai été très bien bien conseillé , que ce soit par téléphone ou par mail ( merci Franck!).
Je ne regrette pas du tout mon achat, j’en suis satisfait en je me demande encore comment j’ai pu écouter de la musique dematerialisee pendant ces dernières années !
Je redécouvre ma musique et c’est formidable.
Livraison très rapide ( commandé lundi et livré le mercredi) emballage très soigné , les réglages du bras étaient déjà faits, je n’ai eu qu’à brancher , allumer et profiter!
En plus si je le souhaite, je pourrai upgrader la cellule ( bien que tout me convienne parfaitement pour l’instant).
