This new Axia S has had a complete facelift and builds on the technology and design applied to the famous Orpheus! Also, it is fitted with pure 5N silver wire coils and powerful neodymium magnets of its elder sister. And above all: internal impedance is halved, dropping from 8 to 4 ohms!
With the old Axia, the sound quality was one of the most musical that we had ever heard, but the new version of this Hi-Fi cartridge is just stunning! All its former qualities are not only to be reckoned with, they are even enhanced! The transparency is better distributed across the spectrum, the frequency response is broader and the dynamics are more natural. The sound is amazingly subtle and articulate. The most surprising element is the neutrality and subtlety with which it delivers the music. The timbre quality and tonal justness enable a great reproduction of any musical style.
A few years ago a journalist from HIFI World wrote: 'Simply one of the best cartridges I've ever heard to date, irrespective of the price range! '. Currently, this new version further proves the point… and we consider it unrivalled in this price range. In short, more efficient that the old Phoenix… Whether you like jazz trios, string quartets, opera, folk, pop or powerful rock music, you'll enjoy it all the same. With this new Axia Hi-Fi cartridge, you will rediscover with astonishment all the records you play on your turntable. Week-ends just fly by! A unique product typical to Transfiguration's know-how, which does justice to music once again. Well done and Aligato Mister Yoshioka!
