L’connected amplifier NAD M10 V2 BluOSGives a preview of what connected electronics of tomorrow could be, but today !
This new V2 version comes with a remote control, new gain algorithms, and new possibilities for its Dolby Digital surround sound.
NAD M10 V2 BluOS: ENCLOSURE
Despite its modest size (215 x 100 x 260 mm), the NAD M10 contains cutting-edge technology and a plethora of functions.
The metal case receives a textured black paint and the top features a "gorilla" type glass plate that is very resistant to scratches, as on tablets or Smartphones.
The finish is of very high quality.
NAD M10 V2 BluOS: FRONT AND REAR PANEL
On its front panel sits a huge color touchscreen that allows access to all the functions offered by the device. It can also be controlled by Amazon Alexa or Siri.
On the back of thisconnected amplifier, There is a pair of large gold-plated WBT-style terminals. In addition, there are two analog RCA inputs and a Pre-Out output, as well as two Sub outputs, an HDMI eARC input, and an Ethernet (RJ45) input.
The DAC section offers a USB Type A input, a coaxial (RCA), and an optical (Toslink).
The main functions and navigation can be performed using the remote control supplied as standard with the M10 V2.
NAD M10 V2 BluOS: AMPLIFICATION
The M10 features Hybrid Digital nCore amplification. This provides exceptional efficiency as well as significant continuous power availability.
It delivers 2 x 100 watts of power at 4 and 8 ohms from 20Hz to 20 KHz. Its power and durability, thanks to a very high damping factor, allow it to power the majority ofcompact speakersAnd of thefloor-standing speakersMid-range.
It is equipped with Dirac Live Room Correction technology. This acoustic correction and calibration system optimizes playback based on the acoustic characteristics of the room. It processes frequencies between 20Hz and 200Hz.
A micro USB designed for this purpose is included with the M10.
NAD M10 V2 BluOS: COMPATIBILITY
LeNAD M10 V2 BluOSIntegrates aDAC audioESS Sabre 9028 with very high performance which makes it compatible with high-resolution PCM and DSD audio files. This DAC processes digital signals with a resolution of 32 bits/384 kHz !
It is compatible with the majority of formats (all of them?!): MP3, AAC, WMA, OGG, WMA-L, ALAC, OPUS, MQA, DSD, FLAC, WAV, and AIFF. Of course, this also includes files extracted via a local network such as NAS or via a computer connected to the network.
The connected amplifier M10 integrates the majority of streaming services as well as internet radios (TuneIn Radio, iHeartRadio, Calm Radio, and Radio Paradis).
NAD M10 V2 BluOS: CONNECTION
LeNAD M10 V2 BluOSCan therefore connect via Ethernet wired network, WiFi, as well as Bluetooth. Its particularity is that it is aptX and bidirectional. It can therefore function as a receiver and/or as a transmitter. A wireless connection can thus be established with a Smartphone, a tablet, but also with a Bluetooth headset.
Le NAD M10 V2 BluOS receives the BluOS operating system, which is the only wireless high-resolution multi-room system available to date. It supports the new MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) standard for high-resolution streaming.
The M10 V2 BluOS adds Dolby Digital surround sound decoding. It is possible to configure a pair of speakers or wireless amplifiers compatible with Dolby Digital Surround BluOS to handle the Surround channels, while the main speakers manage the front channels.
The M10 V2 BluOS also includes a license for Dirac Live with the option for advanced users to upgrade to the Dirac Live Full Frequency version.
NAD M10 V2 BluOS: TEST AND LISTENING
The resolution of thisNAD M1O V2 BluOSIs commensurate with the resources invested. The quality is also fully in line with a product of this range.
From the very first measurements, we are surprised by the quality of the bass and its "punchy" character. The dynamics are formidable and the power reserve sufficient to "drive" Hi-Fi speakers, even somewhat challenging ones. The soundstage is impressive for its breadth as well as for its precision and placement. The voices are perfectly centered and their presence promotes obvious realism.
The ear pads are well made and there is no sense of harshness or sharpness in the treble, as is the case with some competing products.
L’connected amplifier NAD M10 V2 BluOSProposed by themanufacturer NADIs a product completely in tune with our time and that meets the demand of new music lovers…
Certainly, it may not compete with separate high-end products, but at this price, it seriously overshadows some overpriced connected products that benefit more from marketing than from real musicality !
However, to be completely honest, the changes compared to the V1 version are far too minimal and do not add much; they cannot justify a user who owns the V1 version switching to V2.
