REL T/9x subwoofer enclosure

The new REL T/9x subwoofer enclosure benefited from the research and results obtained with previous generations and more ambitious ranges.

This allowed the optimization of the speakers, of theamplifier, filtering, and the enclosure.

REL T/9x : Box

Le REL T/9x It comes in a very compact but also relatively "massive" and rigid form. It is schematically a cube just over 35 cm on each edge, which offers a mass of more than 20 kg!!!

On the front, there is a 25 cm speaker and below the enclosure another speaker (passive radiator) with a diameter of 25 cm. The REL T/9x is delivered with a speaker cover covered with jersey. REL I offer this cabinet in two finishes made with 5 layers of white or black piano lacquer.

REL T/9xSettings and connections

On the back of the enclosure, there is a connection and control panel. For inputs, there is a high-level connection in Speakon format and an LFE input in RCA. Additionally, there is a low-level stereo input in RCA.

The settings are those typically found on this type of product: a Hi/Low level, an LFE level, a filtering adjustment (30/120Hz), and a Phase adjustment (0/180 °).

REL T/9xTechnology

LeREL T/9xIs equipped with a amplifier of 300W Class A/B. This one is derived from the amplifiers Class A/B used in all generations of Series T since 2006. The reliability of this amplifier It is proven with more than 200,000 units produced !

This amplifier is powerful enough to drive the new 25 cm speaker.

It is equipped with a brand new FiberAlloy™ cone that offers very high rigidity and better excursion due to the speaker for more impact and dynamics.

It is not associated with a sealed or Bass/Reflex enclosure as is often the case. The main driver is complemented by a 25 cm passive radiator also with a FiberAlloy™ cone. It is equipped with a specific suspension adjustment that offers perfectly linear excursion.

This technology used allowed for unexpected bass down to 27hz (-6dB) for a subwoofer of this size !

REL T/9x: Test and listening

In nature and especially during a concert, bass occurs in three dimensions: width, depth, and height. This aspect is relatively difficult to achieve with a pair of passive speakers.
