Description

The Indiana Line Tesi 1 bookshelf speaker has been developed for small two-channel or multi-channel Hi-Fi installations. This small speaker uses the recipes applied to the TESI range, but it receives new speakers, a better quality filter and more complex cabinetry.

INDIANA LINE TESI 2: FEATURES

The speaker is made of very rigid and reinforced MDF, which limits cabinet resonances. Transverse reinforcements in the form of horizontal rings have been placed at key locations throughout the height of the speaker to completely eliminate unwanted vibrations.
The top of the spectrum is reproduced by an excellent 26mm silk dome tweeter. This high frequency transducer has a radial damping chamber and a powerful neodymium magnet. Compared to previous Tesi models, the front shape of the tweeter has been modified. Instead of being round, it is now rectangular, this design improves the visual harmony between the tweeter and the main speaker.
The midrange and bass are reproduced by a 120mm driver. This is equipped with a mica-polypropylene composite cone and Dual Wave suspension. This suspension was developed to extend the linear operating range of the transducer and minimize intermodulation distortion, particularly at low frequencies.
This HP is associated with a larger and more powerful magnet than the previous version. It also receives an inductance linearization ring which is decisive in the quality of this HP. The components used help to achieve a low level of distortion and improve dynamics in low frequencies.
This speaker is loaded with Bass/Reflex via a vent which opens at the bottom of the front of the speaker. Filtering uses air-wound chokes and polypropylene capacitors. It determines the cutoff frequency at 2400 Hz. The topology of the filter is inspired by solutions used in the manufacturer's high-end models. The designers have maintained the same quality of components, ensuring a consistent impedance characteristic, high efficiency, low distortion levels and optimal sound dispersion.
The internal damping is entrusted to a non-woven synthetic foam of high purity, known to be an excellent absorber of the internal resonances of the speakers. Additionally, this polyester is extremely resistant to stretching, drying and moisture.
Connection to the amplifier is made via a simple, high-quality gold-plated terminal block. It accepts bare wires, banana plugs and spades.

INDIANA LINE THESIS 2: INSTALLATION

We tested the Indiana Line Tesi with a small amplifier of English origin, around forty watts. We recommend that you space them 2 meters apart and keep them at least 15 cm from the rear wall. The ideal is to position them between 50 and 70 cm from the ground. They will be comfortable in rooms with a surface area of less than 20 m².

INDIANA LINE TESI 2: TEST AND LISTENING

The first measures were a real surprise! They offer a surprising soundstage in both width and depth for a speaker offered at this price. The bass is articulate and offers great impact, while being very readable. They give excellent depth to the works and a very convincing balance. This may seem quite surprising given the compact dimensions of the speaker.
The voices are transcribed with great cleanliness and transparency. The midrange is in my opinion the strong point of this speaker. The different instruments are perfectly readable and well detailed. It offers beautiful clarity in the midrange frequencies while retaining substance. The treble is perfectly integrated with the other registers, and we salute here the choice of an excellent silk dome tweeter. Indeed, this technology provides enormous detail and precision without excessive shine. The top of the spectrum is never aggressive and does not rise artificially as is often the case with speakers in this range. Whatever style of music you listen to, the Indiana Line Tesi 2 bookshelf speakers fill the room with ease and comfort.
Their overall performance is astonishing and it far exceeds its price. The Indiana Line Tesi 2 offer new and unexpected quality in this price range. A very nice surprise!
