The Sonus Faber Concertino G4 is the successor to the famous Concertino offered by Sonus Faber. It commemorates the latter's 30th anniversary.

Sonus Faber Concertino G4: Overview

This new edition embodies the rich artisan tradition, both acoustically and musically, as well as in terms ofknow-howin cabinetmaking and finishing. As in the Italian artisan workshops of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, where an apprentice worked under the direction of a master for years before becoming a journeyman and finally aspiring to the title of master by creating a "masterpiece"which represents the culmination of decades of experience, craftsmanship and innovation.

The Concertino aims to embody the essence ofThe sound of Smithby combining tradition and technology.The sound of Smithhas chosen new natural materials to place the Concertino in the “Natural Sound” philosophy ofThe sound of SmithThe Concertino retains a historic and emblematic trapezoidal shape of monitor designs from theItalian manufacturer.

The body is machined from a very rigid cork. The internal rear is cut in a wave shape to break up standing waves and limit rebounds. It is held in place by two solid walnut sides. The rest of thepregnantand the baffle are covered with a leather alternative, a faux leather made by Ohoskin from orange and cactus. 100% vegan and 100%made in Italy! A solid wood vent opens above the terminal block at the rear of thepregnant.

Sonus Faber Concertino G4: The Speakers

The treble is entrusted to a superb 28 mm DAD dome tweeter, relayed in themid/bassby a 135 mm speaker made of cellulose pulp and natural fibers. This is equipped with a cast aluminum basket and a very high power ferrite. The filtering has a cut-off frequency of 1.7 kHz, and thequalityspeakers and charging allowed a very minimalist realization, using few components but veryhigh qualityThe manufacturer recommends using an amplifier with a power between 30 and 150 W, but their rather low sensitivity encourages the use of aamplifierwith a minimum 80 W transistor or aamplifierwith tubes of more than 40 W.
