Sonus Faber Lumina Amator II bookshelf speakers

Following the success of its Lumina range, the Italian manufacturer Sonus Faber has reworked the two flagship models of this series.

The Sonus Faber Lumina II Amator and Lumina V Amator have received a filter modification and a more premium finish in the pure Sonus Faber tradition.

SONUS FABER LUMINA II AMATOR: BUILD AND DESIGN

The new front panel is machined from real multi-ply wood, surface-veneered in three new high-gloss finishes: Red, Wenge, and Walnut. All finishes feature a 45° wood veneer.

The speakers can be concealed behind a rigid black Jersey cover attached via magnets.

These Sonus Faber Lumina II Amator speakers are, of course, handmade in Sonus Faber's factory in Arcugnano, Italy.

SONUS FABER LUMINA II AMATOR: SPEAKERS

They retain the drivers from the Lumina II, with a 150 mm cellulose fiber speaker for the mid/bass range. It features a large and powerful motor. It is paired with the excellent 29 mm DAD™ dome tweeter for handling high frequencies. To limit distortions and disturbances in the high frequencies, this tweeter is isolated from the bookshelf speaker's cabinet by a viscoelastic joint.

The Bass/Reflex enclosure opens at the front and the base of the Hi-Fi speaker through a Reflex Port laminar vent.

SONUS FABER LUMINA II AMATOR: FILTERING

The filtering has been completely revised and modified, making it specific to this speaker.

The modifications have been made to significantly improve the performance and sensitivity of the speaker.

The crossover frequency has been optimized and changed from 1800 Hz to 2600 Hz.

SONUS FABER LUMINA II AMATOR: POSITIONING

The Lumina II Amator is an extremely easy-to-place compact speaker, making it an excellent choice for medium-sized or confined spaces. We recommend placing them on stands with a height between 60 and 75 cm.

Connections are made via a good-quality dual terminal that accepts banana plugs, spades, or, of course, bare wire.

Despite its size, the Sonus Faber Lumina II Amator is capable of delivering a wide and particularly balanced sound.

The Lumina II Amator fills the listening room with even more ease than the standard versions. Transparency and dynamics are also much superior.

Of course, the enthusiasm and surprising swing of Sonus Faber Hi-Fi speakers are present. This is combined with remarkable tonal quality. They promote presence, substance, and realism.

The bass remains surprising for a speaker of this size. There is no frustration in this range, and the balance with the mid/high is particularly successful.
