The Sonus Faber Sonetto II bookshelf speakers are the second 2-way speakers offered by the Italian manufacturer in this new range. This series is interposed between the Chameleon and the Olympica Nova.
We also find the look and the particular boat bow shape.
As with all Sonus Faber speakers, the Sonetto II is wonderfully crafted in any finish (black, white or wood).
The Sonetto II is a 2-way bass reflex speaker designed to be placed on a shelf, console or better, a stand (speaker stand).
A 165 mm cellulose fibre speaker was selected to reproduce the mid/bass register.
It is associated to the excellent 29mm DKM dome tweeter to handle high frequencies. In order to limit distortions and disturbances in the high frequencies, this tweeter is isolated from the cabinet by a viscoelastic joint.
The Bass/Reflex load opens at the front and base of the Hi-Fi speaker via a laminar port.
The speakers can be hidden behind a rigid black Jersey cover fixed with magnets.
Set up is relatively easy. Of course, the best result will be obtained with the dedicated Sonetto speaker stands offered by Sonus Faber.
Of course, the Sonus Faber Sonetto II requires an amplifier and a quality source to express fully and accurately.
Like their little sisters the Sonetto I speakers, the Sonetto II fill the listening room with ease, enthusiasm and dynamism. We immediately notice a greater opening and a better impact in the bass than with the Sonetto I.
The sound scene is superb and offers almost no limits in width and depth.
The quality of the bass is also important. This one is deep, dynamic and has perfect control.
We find magnificent timbres related to a nuance and subtlety of the highest order.
Precision is also there, and transparency has nothing to envy to much more expensive models.
Their manufacturing quality and finish level, combined with remarkable musicality, make these Sonus Faber Sonetto II bookshelf speakers our reference in this price range.
