The Fyne Audio F302 tower speaker is the first tower speaker among the range from Fyne Audio, the Scottish manufacturer.
FYNE AUDIO F302: CHARACTERISTICS
The F302 tower speaker clearly has the same features as the Fyne Audio F301 bookshelf speaker but in tower format.
This added load allows it to offer a better response at the lower end of the spectrum and enables performance. Indeed, this one goes to 90 dB and the bandwidth extends in the bass at 36 Hz (-6dB).
We also note a higher acceptable power in the bookshelf model.
The Fyne Audio F302 has also been developed for both stereo and multi-channel use. It allows you to build a small Hi-Fi system or Home cinema without the breaking the bank.
The connection to the amplifier is made via a simple but good quality terminal block. It accepts bare wires or bananas.
The speaker is based on a close stand of 2 cross-pieces equipped with decoupling points.
FYNE AUDIO F302: SPEAKER
The 150mm bass/midrange multi-fibre driver is the same as the Fyne Audio F301 speaker. Here, it is loaded in large volume of back Bass/Reflex.
It is associated in the high frequencies with a 25 mm polyester dome tweeter common to all the models of the 300 range. This one is hidden in front of a grid with magnet protection.
FYNE AUDIO F302: TEST AND LISTENING
The Fyne Audio F302 speakers offer an excellent balance, which is their main advantage. They do not try to do everything, but what they do, they do it well!
The treble is not the most neutral as it is and shows some coquetries. We recommend associate this Fyne Audio F302 to a soft amp. We obtained excellent results with a Cambridge Audio AX A35 integrated amplifier.
By placing the F302 speaker more or less close to the wall, we have a good compromise between the fullness of the sound scene and bass articulation.
These F302 speakers can reproduce an excellent bass regarding to their size. But these basses are tight and do not overflow on the rest of the spectrum. In addition, it is fast and gives excellent rhythm to the restitution.
The depth of bass is also noticeable at low volumes where it is more discreet on bookshelf speaker models.
The Fyne Audio F302 tower speaker is certainly the best Hi-Fi speaker among its range! It is rare to find tower speakers for less than 500 euros that offer such performances.
