The Pro-Ject Speaker Box 10 tower speakers are available in 3 colours – red, black and white – each complete with a meticulously applied varnish. These 2-way tower speakers (3 drivers) have a finely crafted enclosure.
Pro-Ject Speaker Box 10: features
These Pro-Ject tower speakers fitted with a bass reflex system. The port is fitted behind the baffle, which means these speakers should be positioned at least 30cm from the back wall.
The midrange and bass is taken care of by the two drivers with a 130mm braided composite membrane. The treble is in the safe hands of a tweeter with a 25mm synthetic silk dome and a neodymium magnet.
The bandwidth extends with the volume of the speaker: 50Hz – 20kHz at -3dB. This gives the Speaker Box 10 room for manoeuvre, particularly in the bass, which tends to be deeper and more articulated than in Pro-Ject bookshelf speakers.
They have an output of 89dB, which means they can be used with an amplifier of around 30W.
Pro-Ject Speaker Box 10: setting
These tower speakers sound best in rooms of approximately 30m².
Pro-Ject Speaker Box 10: listening and review
The Pro-Ject Speaker Box 10 tower speakers tick numerous boxes on the checklists of even the most exacting of audiophiles.
They produce a soft, silky sound that also has impressive dynamic range and transparency. We tested them out with an IN50SE amplifier by Atoll Electronique and a Pro-Ject 1-Xpression Carbon vinyl turntable. The musicality of these speakers is second to none.
The sound they produce is highly enjoyable, smooth and balanced.
And the value for money isn’t bad either... Highly recommended for exacting audiophiles on a budget!
