On the rear panel, it has toggle switches to avoid any distortion during recording (0 dB, 6 dB, or 12 dB).
ADL by Furutech GT40 Alpha: Features
It offers the same basic features as its predecessor, the famous GT40. But, in addition, it manages an asynchronous USB 24bits/192Khz input and output.
It integrates a DAC and ADC compatible with 24/192, unlike the GT40 which was limited to 24/96KHz. The bandwidth is greatly expanded, more than 20 Hz in the low end and 5 kHz.
It should be noted that the "line" output level is higher than on the GT40, which makes it easier to drive active speakers or a power amplifier.
The headphone section has been improved with an increased current capacity, allowing better control of low-impedance headphones.
For the rest, it's the same philosophy, chassis, connectors, etc...
This ADL GT 40 Alpha features a low-latency asynchronous USB port that plays and records in 24bit / 192kHz format.
It includes a low-noise MM/MC phono stage.
Its analog-to-digital converter includes right/left analog outputs and a switchable line or phono input.

Super qualité / prix/ fonctionalité.
Je recherchais un moyen pour enregistrer mes vinyles (et ceux de mon papa) avec une qualité "satisfaisante" à des fins "nomades". Je dispose de préamplis phono qui valent entre 3 et 20 fois le prix de celui-ci. Quelle (très) bonne surprise concernant les résultats obtenus. J'ai procédé à toute une batteries de tests (échantillonnages, format de fichier de sortie...) via l'application Audacity. Le meilleur résultat est en WAV à 192kh pour l’échantillonnage (mais attention à la taille des fichiers- 1,84 Gb pour une face de disque 33T). Résultat bluffant! Dans mes tests avec le format AIFF en sortie dans Audacity, surprise incompréhensible avec du bruit de fond qui n'existe plus lorsque je reconverti le même fichier WAV en AIFF. Bien entendu, le résultat en écoute directe comme préampli phono est excellent pour le prix mais ne peut rivaliser avec des préamplis audiophiles qui valent beaucoup plus cher et qui ne permettent pas le digitalisation des vinyles. Un "must" pour tous ceux qui souhaitent écouter leurs vinyles et les digitaliser! Un tout grand merci à maPlatine.com que j'avais contacté au sujet d'un possible souci avec le Furutech/ ADL GT 40 Alpha: l'origine était une soudure froide dans un connecteur (que je ne manipule jamais) et qui a donné du fil à retordre (panne intermittente). Le sérieux et la fiabilité de Furutech n'était pas à mettre en cause.

Beau et efficace !
Montage sur une platine REGA Planar Plus donc l'ampli est en mode "Line" et quelle claque en prenant le casque ((MEZE Classics 99) !!! Le premier reflex est de baisser le volume car tellement clair et "vrai", cela m'a assis et m'a demandé un petit temps d'adaptation ! Les instruments sont tous présent, les graves pas trop "lourds", la musique est homogène (écoute avec Vinyle "Pink panther" de Maplatine.com).
Boitier sobre mais costaud et de très bonne qualité - c'est de la qualité japonaise et cela se ressent sur l'ensemble !
Je l'ai surtout pris pour une utilisation en ampli casque car maintenant par comparaison, la sortie casque d'un ampli AV est affreuse (et pas de réglage de volume surtout !).
Essais en DAC, assez convaincant aussi mais moins d'effet de surprise car j'ai déjà un bon DAC sur mon installation (Cambridge Audio DacMagic 100) et un autre en nomade...
Je redécouvre mes disques en écrivant ces lignes...
