GOLD NOTE CD PLAYER CD 5.2

The chassis features the new design adopted across the entire 5.2 range. This new sandblasted black anodized aluminum chassis is designed to minimize magnetic interference, creating a very stable electrical and mechanical environment, significantly reducing background noise and improving detail accuracy for an even more natural listening experience.

The front panel is extremely minimalist! Apart from the loading tray, there is only a touchscreen and a power LED.

All functions are therefore available via the touchscreen or, of course, with the remote control supplied with the unit. Playback information (track, time, title, etc.) is clearly displayed on the screen.

At the rear of the unit, there is very complete connectivity. Analog outputs are available in unbalanced (RCA) and balanced (XLR). In addition, there are coaxial digital outputs (RCA) and optical Toslink outputs.

Also included are an IEC C13 power input and a multi-pin connector for the optional high-end external power supply, the Gold Note PSU 5.2.

Gold Note CD 5.2: Technology

The Gold Note CD 5.2 is equipped with a precision CD reading mechanism designed for high-performance audio playback. It extracts every bit of data from the disc to create a pure and accurate digital signal stream.

This stream is then processed by the high-end AKM AK4493 digital-to-analog converter. This DAC is renowned for its unmatched musicality on the market.

The signal is converted into a highly faithful analog output. Every component, from the mechanical chassis to the electronic circuits, has been carefully selected and tested to deliver the best possible musicality without any distortion.

The CD-5.2 can be further optimized with the addition of the PSU-5.2, an external power supply that enhances performance even more, delivering finer detail, greater power, and a more refined sound reproduction.

From the very first listening sessions, the Gold Note CD 5.2 demonstrates remarkable and surprising performance for a device in this category!

Music is reproduced with great energy and “groove.” This Gold Note delivers excellent impact on percussion and outstanding dynamics. But that’s not all, as this player can also be nuanced and delicate when required. With classical works, its reproduction is subtle and majestic, making listening truly captivating.

On complex recordings, the CD-5.2 demonstrates its ability to reproduce details with impressive precision for a device in this price range. Timbre reproduction is particularly successful and contributes to the overall realism of the listening experience. It brings presence and emotion to voices without ever becoming aggressive. The overall tonal balance is smooth and full-bodied.

The Gold Note CD-5.2 appears to be the obvious choice for demanding music lovers with a limited budget. Furthermore, the possibility of upgrading it with its external power supply is, in our opinion, an option worth considering. With the PSU 5.2, the CD 5.2’s performance rises to another level!
