The new CD players in the Evolution series benefit from many innovations. The power supplies, conversion and audio stages have been completely redesigned.
Atoll CD100 EVO: boitier
The CD 100 EVO comes in a new metal case with a superb front (silver or black) in 4mm brushed aluminum! This façade of course takes the new design of the Atoll products.
Below the drawer, a low-power OLED display gives the different reading and range information. On each side of it there are 3 control keys taking the main functions (play, stop, pause, forward/ back...).
The rear panel features an asymmetric stereo analog output, a coaxial S/PDIF digital output and a Toslink optical output.
Atoll CD100 Signature: features
This CD player is equipped with the new Teac Pure Audio CD mechanics optimized to reduce jitter. It is mounted on a central anti-resonance frame to avoid any vibrations harmful to the reading.
The CD100 EVO supports CD, CD-R, CD-RW in MP3, WMA and AAC formats. It is also compatible with the CD Text if the disc has this feature. Atoll has opted for 5 regulated power supplies to limit all interference between analog and digital. A transformer is dedicated specifically for the audio stages. The power supplies have a combined output of 30 vA + 4.6 + 1.6 vA, and offer a total capacity of 21450 uF!
The analog output stages are symmetric and have discrete components fully polarized in Class A.
The digital part uses the excellent Burr-Brown PCM1792 conversion chip. It offers a resolution of 24 bits over 192 kHz.
This EVO CD player can also be equipped with the optional ATOLL DC 200 digital card with 3 digital inputs: a coaxial input (24Bits/192kHz), an optical input (24Bits/192kHz) and an asynchronous USB-B input. This allows the player’s internal D/A converter to be used for external sources.

The CD player Atoll CD100 Evo remains faithful to the brand in terms of balance and neutrality.
The restitution is precise and detailed, without favoring the high end of the spectrum or highlighting the medium. On the contrary, everything seems to be in place and at the right amount!
There is an excellent dynamic associated with a superb transparency over the entire bandwidth.
As with all CD players Atoll , we find spontaneity and generosity but with much more nuance, subtlety and matter.
The bass also has more poise and better articulation than the entry-level models. The medium offers a greater harmonic richness and an even more realistic presence.
Its lively and subtle reproduction will delight music lovers and audiophiles who love jazz, rock or classical music.
The CD player Atoll CD100 EVO is superbly designed and manufactured in France.
It is a real surprise in this price range. The CD 100 EVO offers a remarkable quality/music/price ratio.
