The latest-generation Hyper RCA Duo R is fitted with an innovative "Duo" shielding designed to minimise the RFI noise that degrades a cable's audio performance. Designed to overcome the shortcomings of conventional coaxial cables, the Atlas Duo topology uses two separate OCC copper conductors, each independently shielded for the "hot" (+) and "cold" (-) connections, thereby improving rejection of the unwanted noise that degrades the signal. Hyper uses high-purity OCC (Ohno Continuous Casting) copper conductors with a PEF (foamed polyethylene) dielectric. More than ten years ago, Atlas found that the traditional RCA connector, CNC-machined with a metal body, had a weak point, with a significant loss of performance. Their research showed that polycarbonate, and then ABS, were higher-performing materials for the connector body. This made it possible to create a low-dielectric-constant, low-mass, non-conductive RCA connector while retaining the robustness and stability of a CNC-machined product. Thanks to the latest 3D-printing techniques, Atlas designed a new lattice structure that reduces its mass by 25%, increases the amount of air in its body and considerably improves its bandwidth.
