Description

The latest generation of the Atlas Hyper RCA R1 delivers a more subtle, balanced, and neutral sound, with above all greater transparency. This interconnect cable from Atlas ensures optimal signal transfer between your audio components such as a DAC, a CD player, or a network streamer and your integrated amplifier.

ATLAS HYPER RCA R1: Features

The Atlas Hyper RCA R1 uses high-purity OCC (Ohno Continuous Casting) copper conductors with a PEF (foamed polyethylene) dielectric. This design combines wide bandwidth with excellent resistance to radio frequency interference (RFI), which can raise noise floor levels and lead to loss of detail.

The Hyper RCA R1 pairs top-tier materials with next-generation Achromatic X RCA connectors. Over ten years ago, Atlas found that traditional CNC-machined RCA connectors with metal bodies were a weak point, causing significant performance loss.

Their research demonstrated that polycarbonate, followed by ABS, were superior materials for connector bodies. This allowed the creation of a low-dielectric constant, low-mass, non-conductive RCA connector, while preserving the robustness and stability of a CNC-machined product.

This Achromatic X connector is used in the latest generation Element, Equator, Hyper, and Ailsa ranges. These phono connectors are cold-crimped directly to the conductors without solder.

ATLAS HYPER RCA R1: Listening Test

The latest generation Atlas Hyper Achromatic X RCA offers a nuanced and well-balanced presentation. Great transparency is evident, combined with clear neutrality that offers genuine realism. The soundstage is spacious and deep while remaining airy. The Achromatic X RCA delivers excellent resolution and a realistic level of detail that never falls into surgical territory.

The overall sound remains subtle, more balanced, and more transparent than the previous version. This cable prioritizes musicality and emotion above all, without introducing coloration.

FAQ: Everything you need to know before buying the Atlas Hyper RCA R1 cable

Which devices can be connected with the Atlas Hyper RCA R1?

It is a line-level interconnect cable equipped with RCA plugs, designed to connect a source component to an amplifier, or more broadly, two components in your hi-fi system.

What do the Achromatic X connectors bring to the Hyper RCA R1?

Atlas replaced the CNC-machined metal body of traditional RCA connectors with a low-dielectric constant, low-mass, non-conductive ABS body, while retaining strength and stability. Crimped to the conductors without solder, these connectors minimize signal loss.

What kind of sound presentation can be expected from the Hyper RCA R1?

A nuanced, highly balanced, and neutral listening experience with great transparency and clear realism. The soundstage is wide, deep, and spacious, with excellent resolution and realistic detail without being analytical. The cable prioritizes musicality and emotion without coloration.

Is the cable well-shielded against interference?

Yes. Its OCC copper conductors, PEF dielectric, and double shielding (OFC copper foil and braid) provide excellent resistance to radio frequency interference (RFI), which can degrade noise floor and detail.
