The Cambridge Audio AX A25 integrated amplifier is the most affordable product of the new range of the English manufacturer.
This integrated amp is based on the dark aluminium front panel of the Azur series from the 2000's! In its center there is a large volume potentiometer.
Symmetrically to it, there is on the left a bass and treble control and, on the right, the balance and the input selector.
In addition, there is an Aux input in 3.5 mm format.
Cambridge Audio offers a very simple and stripped device. At the back of the AX A25 amp, there are 5 analogue inputs and a “record” output.
Cambridge Audio has added a USB plug but this one does not process signals, it only offers the possibility to recharge a device... curious and not very useful?!
The power is limited to 25 watts per channel at 8 Ohms but with a pair of Hi-Fi speakers, not too greedy and in a room under 20 m², it fits perfectly.
The restitution is not aggressive at all and even tends towards softness. The transparency is nice ad the fullness is very pleasant.
The combination of this Cambridge Audio AX A25 integrated amp with the Cambridge Audio AX CD25 CD player is recommended.Franck
