This Thorens TD295MK 4 has been entirely revamped and features none of the mechanical elements of its little sisters. The MDF veneered or glossy plinth weighs 5.5 Kg. A felt-lined cast aluminium platter weighing 2.3 kg now replaces the aluminium platter. The DC motor has an electronic control that makes it more silent and also manages playback speed changes between 33 and 45 rpm. The tonearm is Thorens ' good aluminium TP41, paired with a great Audio Technica ATM95 cartridge. Its design is clever and meets the requirements of music lovers looking for a product that is simple to use. It is semi-automatic and is very easy to set up and use. It offers the same functions as an excellent manual turntable, but also comes with motor and arm shutdown functions at the end of the record. This vinyl turntable is beautifully crafted and is available in several great finishes (mahogany, glossy white, black, silver and lime-green).
Playback is very pleasant and precise. It boasts great dynamics and precision for Classical music recordings. An effective and well designed product which offers a musicality almost on par with the best manual models. And most of all, it performs considerably better then automatic models at this price range.
Highly recommended! Franck
