Today, the network player is one of the obligatory sources of a High Fidelity system. There are several models on the market, but few of them really meet an audiophile need and are dedicated to music lovers.
The French manufacturer Atoll really thought about this subject and its answer is the ST200 Signature network player! To start, it is manufactured in France and this is rare enough to be highlighted!
ATOLL ST200 SIGNATURE: FRONT PANEL
This Atoll network player takes all the standards of the manufacturer’s Signature range. So we find the wonderful front panel made of black or natural brushed aluminium.
In its middle, a superb 5″ color LED display takes the stage. Its definition quality allows it to display album covers as well as logos of the various stations and some information: titles, artists, time, resolution... And the all with an incredibly clarity!
On each side of the screen, we find a navigation pad and many accesses to basic functions. All these functions are present on the provided remote control, and above all, everything is present and very complete on the application.
ATOLL ST200 SIGNATURE: BACK PANEL
At the back of this device, there is a plethora of connections, with 9 digital inputs altogether: Bluetooth, coaxial, optical and USB. These are compatible with 24b/192 kHz PCM and 64 & 128 DSD.
To this are added 2 digital outputs (optical and coaxial) and asymmetrical (RCA) and symmetrical (XLR) analogue outputs.
ATOLL ST200 SIGNATURE: TECHNOLOGY
Once the cover is removed, we can appreciate a superb and fully symmetrical structure as well as an outstanding components quality. The preamp stages are with discrete components with zero-feedback and are in pure class A. The analog volume control is made of switched resistors and can be by-passed.
Atoll uses 3 specific power supplies via toroidal transformers dedicated to analogue and digital audio stages. All of the connecting capacitors are of very high quality MKP technology.
The converting stage is base around the musical and famous Burr-Brown PCM1792 converter.
The Atoll ST200 Signature can process all of the DSF files, as well as LPCM, FLAC, ALAC, AIFF, WMA, OGG, WAV, AAC and MP3.
ATOLL ST200 SIGNATURE: INTERFACE
The interface (Android and iOS applications) has been fully revised and redesigned. It is very user-friendly and intuitive. It is very similar to some competitive models, which is a good point as well as a proof of quality.
The interface of this ST200 Signature directly integrates music platforms such as Qobuz, Tidal and Deezer.
Of course, it allows the access to Internet radios too. In Wi-Fi or RJ45 connection, the Internet radios access can be made via high-definition Airable system. And this offers a wide choice of 100 000 stations and an access to podcasts. You can also add each radio to a “Favoris” (“Favorites”) menu.

VRAIMENT UN BEL APPAREIL
Reçu il y a quelques jours. Je voulais lui associer un câble ATLAS, Franck m'a conseillé le modèle Hyper Integra ou le Viard Audio Premium HD RCA dans la même gamme de prix. J'ai choisi l' Atlas.
En tous cas l'ensemble donne d'excellents résultats : limpidité, basses bien présentes, espace, je trouve le tout bien équilibré. J'ai pris un abonnement Qobuz qui d'ailleurs est intégré au lecteur. Utilisation sans problème, au niveau de l'appareil ou mieux avec l'application Atoll sur tablette ou smartphone ( plus pratique pour taper les noms lors des recherches). En qualité CD voire plus, évidemment.
Audirvana est également pratique pour l'utilisation à partir d'un ordinateur.
Le look est également magnifique, avec un écran sur lequel s'affichent les pochettes, il est très lisible.
Voilà un achat que je ne regrette pas et que je conseille. Je n'abandonnerai pas pour autant le vinyle ni le le cd, mais ce lecteur Atoll ST 200 permet d'accéder à une grande qualité sonore en dématérialisé.
