After the success of its Pro-Ject VC-S2 ALU vinyl record washing machine, the Austrian manufacturer Pro-Ject is modifying it by adding several interesting innovations.
This Pro-Ject VC-S3 washing machine is a compact and economical record cleaning machine, but it is also very powerful. It offers all the functions necessary for excellent cleaning of vinyl records.
PRO-JECT VC-S3: FEATURES
The housing is a 5mm composite sandwich with aluminum plating on each side (0.4mm). This provides excellent fluid resistance and perfect sealing.
The Pro-Ject VC-S3 is equipped with a high-torque drive motor and an extremely powerful vacuum pump. This allows you to clean and dry a vinyl record in one or two rotations. The best result is obtained with one turn forward, followed by one back. This is associated with a large 2.5L reservoir.
The metal suction arm is robust and easy to use. It concentrates all the suction power on the recording surface. It is equipped with self-adhesive microfiber strips.
The platter rotates very quickly, at a rate of one complete rotation in 2 seconds, or 30 rotations per minute, which is about 3 times faster than conventional vinyl washing machines. This allows for much faster and more effective cleaning.
The disc is held firmly in place by a new magnetic clamp that completely covers the central label of the disc.
PRO-JECT VC-S3: USE AND RESULTS
The vinyl record is placed on the platter via the magnetic clamp, which completely covers the central label and prevents damage in the event of solution projection.
A 100 ml bottle of Pro-Ject Wash It 2 solution is included with the machine.
Of course, it can also be used with other equally effective cleaning solutions. We always have a preference for the L'Art du Son vinyl record cleaning solution. The cleaning is very effective, and it also significantly reduces static charges.
The combination of rotation speed and motor torque ensures effective cleaning with only two rotations.
