The Goldring Elite cartridge is a significant improvement to its top-selling product, the Eroica LX MC cartridge.
Goldring Elite: body
Goldring has opted for powerful neodymium magnets to reduce the iron content and therefore reduce the overall weight.
The coils are made of a high-quality and low-resistance silver conductor, giving a better definition than copper coils.
The cartridge body owes its remarkable stiffness to the use of Pocan (PVC).
This material also minimises mechanical energy losses and reduces the weight of the phono cartridge to 5.5 g.
Goldring Elite: stylus
The stylus of the Goldring Elite has an extremely complex and precise elliptical profile, 'Gyger S'. It is very similar to the original lathe and, thanks to its shape, it precisely comes in contact with the groove, enabling amazing tracking and very low surface noise.
The aluminium cantilever has a conical design.
The stylus/cantilever assembly is fairly light, which makes it very swift.
Goldring Elite: compatibility
The weight, tracking force and compliance (18) make it compatible with most high-quality tonearms. It makes it readily compatible with light and medium weight Rega, Pro-Ject and Linn Akito tonearms, to name a few…
This low output variant (0.5 mV/100 Ohms) must be paired with a good quality MC phono preamplifier.
Goldring Elite: listening and review
Goldring Elite's sound quality is both well balanced and wide.
The bass is tight and well articulated with amazing tracking ability and precision. The mids are open and transparent without any harshness.
The locations and recording atmosphere are easily identifiable, making the music amazingly authentic.
The sound stage is wide, both in width and depth. It does justice to every register and every musical style. It delivered great results with rock, jazz and classical music.
Note that the Gyger S stylus does an amazing job, the tracking is very precise and the surface noise is (on new vinyl records and ones in good condition) completely removed.
This Goldring Elite MC cartridge is a great success, as well as a true revelation! It is up there with the very best in its category…

Une super MC d'un rapport prix/écoute rare !
J'ai possédé cette cellule pendant 6ANS. Même si elle peut paraitre basique, niveau fixations, et bien qu'existante depuis de nombreuses années il ne faut pas la sous estimé,cette cellule peut affiché sans complexes l'essentiel, de la musique,piqué,transparence, très vivante... Comparée à des cellules beaucoup plus couteuses et réputées l'écoute de l'Elite se fait sans sensations de perte d'émotion.
