I've been the proud owner of a pair of ASA MONITOR Standard speakers for 20 years, so I was thrilled to take the latest version of the ASA Monitor Baby bookshelf speakers out of their box!
The packaging is exquisite and I like the cotton cover around the speaker. The satin lacquer is understated yet well finished. It comes in four finishes: black, ivory, satin grey and red. The weight of the speaker speaks books about the quality of the cabinetwork! It is made of 28 mm thick MDF panel, which is almost twice as thick as the average speaker models in this range. The Norwegian speaker drivers are built to SEAS specifications. The treble is controlled by a tweeter with a 30 mm soft dome. It works alongside an amazing 18 cm midrange/bass driver. The system operates with a bass/reflex principle with a small port open onto the front. The speakers are symmetrical and must be used with the tweeter in the centre of the listening zone. Filtering is definitely one of the centrepieces of these ASA Monitor Baby bookshelf speakers. It has been optimised after playing and measuring for hours. The components used are of premium quality and perfectly measured and paired prior to coating. The simple connector only admits banana plugs.
It is fairly simple to operate. It is possible, and advised, to place them on a dedicated stand (ASA Monitor stands) or other medium weight stands with a height between 60 and 80 cm. The height can vary depending on the space you have in the room you have your system in.
We tried these speakers with several mid-level and high-end tube and transistor amplifiers for size. They clearly display incredible potential in terms of dynamics, definition and neutrality. Spatialisation is one of the most convincing and accurate that can possibly be heard within this price range. The articulation and precision highlight the subtleness of the playing of the bassist, guitarist, pianist… The percussions and drums stand out with unusual ease. Male and female voices alike are reproduced with incredible presence and neutrality. The bass is certainly the highlight of these ASA Monitor Baby speakers! It goes deep down with dynamics and substance that tell a lot about the internal optimisation and damping, the cabinetwork and loading optimisation. These bookshelf speakers are true magnifiers! We don't know of any serious competition for this price, especially produced and designed in France!

Très bon produit
Je me permets de déposer mon avis sur la fiche produit de ces enceintes après l'achat en état occasion (quasi neuf) sur le site de cette paire d'enceintes finition black. Elles sont bluffantes, plutôt volumineuses et lourdes, la dynamique est bien là, je me retrouve avec le groupe dans la même pièce !!!
Pour l'envoi, elles sont arrivées sur une palette, 30kg, j'avais pas prévu un ami mais j'aurai pu grâce aux infos du transporteur, heureusement le livreur a été sympa.
Merci à maplatine, pour l'offre exceptionnelle, je le redis mais elles avaient servies en démo, la qualité des conseils par téléphone de Franck, la rapidité de l'envoi et le produit de grande qualité sur le catalogue.

L'ASA Monitor Baby est une très bonne enceinte, et même une excellente enceinte pour son prix.
J'ai longuement écouté ces enceintes : moins exigeantes que les ASA Monitor Standard en terme de système hifi, elle demande cependant une amplification de qualité et des sources correctes. C'est vraiment une belle déclinaison de l'ASA Monitor Standard avec des performances , certes, plus "modestes" mais à un prix plus accessible et qui finalise merveilleusement bien un système HIFI digne de ce nom : rapidité, transparence, présence sont bel et bien au rendez-vous. Clairement indispensable, et probablement inégalable, à ce prix.
De même que pour les Standard, les pieds ASA dédiés sont à prendre en considération. Ils sont parfaitement adaptés à ces enceintes et leurs permettent de s'exprimer d'une façon optimale.
