British brand Cambridge Audio has been developing and designing its products from the heart of London since 1994, with the help of a 30-strong research and development team. This team of music-loving engineers have based the design of the DacMagic 100 on the standard DacMagic, but have increased the resolution (24 bits/192 kHz compared to the DacMagic’s 24 bits/96 kHz).
Cambridge Audio DAC Magic 100: front panel
There are 2 buttons on the front panel: a standby and source selector.
A blue LED light indicates which source is selected, and a second blue LED light displays the sampling rate.

Cambridge Audio DAC Magic 100: inputs
The DAC Magic 100 is a digital-to-analogue converter (DAC) with four digital inputs: two coaxial TosLink inputs, one optical input and one type B USB input.
And don’t be fooled by its small size – it can improve the sound quality of four difference sources.
Its USB input also lets you listen to music through your computer with this same excellent sound quality! The Cambridge Audio DAC Magic 100 supports sampling rates ranging from 32 to 192 kHz. The USB input is compatible with USB 1.1 and 2.0 technology.

Cambridge Audio DAC Magic 100: listening and review
If you have a digital audio source (TV, decoder, CD player, games console, etc.), the DAC Magic 100 will transfer the signal with significantly reduced distortion.
To get the most out of your DAC Magic 100, there’s no harm in replacing the cables with higher quality models.
It should be clear by now that this Cambridge Audio DAC Magic 100 is jam-packed with cutting-edge technology designed to bring out the best in your record collection. If you like to listen to music through your iPad, iPhone or iPod, the Cambridge Audio iD100 is the perfect complement to the DAC Magic 100.
Its compact size means it fits neatly in to any Hi-Fi system. The DAC Magic 100 is a comprehensive device that is fully committed to producing the best possible sound quality.
