The Davis Acoustics Balthus 50 tower speakers are the first tower speakers of the range Balthus. It nevertheless has the same midrange loudspeakers and tweeters as superior models.
Despite its reasonable size and discrete design, the Balthus 50 produces remarkable performances.

The speaker is available in a black or walnut finish but the front panel has a glossy piano finish.
It rests on 4 adjustable feet with decoupling points. Underneath the Hi-Fi speaker, there is an elastomer pad in order to rest the speaker on the ground if the points are not suitable.

It is a true 3-way bass/ reflex speaker.
A 17 cm cellulose woofer is dedicated to the bass. A 13 cm loudspeaker with a Kevlar membrane dear to Davis Acoustics is dedicated to the midrange! It was optimized in order to re transcribe this part of the spectrum with lots of precision, dynamics, details, and impact.
The high end of the spectrum is reproduced by the famous Davis tweeter made out of a 25mm fabric. It re transcribes a treble that is neutral, smooth, and very precise despite the total absence of projection or aggressiveness.
A circular port positioned at the bottom of the tower speaker is dedicated to the bass/reflex load.

The positionning is not complicated. We recommend you place it 30 cm away from the wall.
Davis Acoustics recommends to use these speakers in a 20 m² room and place them 2.5 m away from each other, for about 3 m of retrospect.
All you need to do is slightly position them towards the listening area to feel a 3 dimensional image.

After listening to it for about 50 hours, the Davis Acoustics Balthus 50 tower speakers are ready to give their best.
The bass is impressive in comparison to the size of the speaker. It is dynamic and clear. On certain recordings, it can seem to be flattering but without being intrusive. The bass and double bass are very realistic and even enables a clarity on the pedalboard of a pipe organ!
The midrange that makes the reputation of the brand is present! It offers a superb presence combined with an excellent timbre balance.
The voices are detailed and precise. There is no harshness. The integration with the treble is to be highlighted because it is a success.
