The Davis Acoustics Balthus 30 bookshelf speakers are the heirs to the famous Davis Acoustics Dufy Signature speakers which the manufacturing ended in the beginning of 2017. The Davis Acoustics Balthus 30 bookshelf speakers incorporate some of the technical solutions that were developed on the Dufy. Therefore, they are still 2-way bass/reflex bookshelf speakers.
A 13cm woofer drives the bass-midrange with a membrane made out of Kevlar makes it possible to reproduce this part of the spectrum with a lot of precision, dynamics, and details. The higher frequencies are reproduced by the famous Davis Acoustics tweeter made out of a 25mm fabric. It reproduces a treble that is neutral, soft, and very precise. A circular port opening is positioned on the back of the Hi-Fi speakers takes care of the bass/reflex system. The Balthus 30 has to be placed at least 20 cm away from the wall.
These Davis Acoustics Balthus 30 bookshelf speakers offer a surprising musicality and spontaneity. In order to properly function, these speakers do not require a lot of watts. A small integrated amplifier of 30 watts will do the job. The timbers are excellent and the definition is amazing. It is also important to take into account that the quality of the production is excellent. The cabinetmaking is simple but efficient and it is a great value for money. It is also important to underline the excellent quality of the filter and speaker’s terminals.
It is pleasant to see that french acoustics are brilliantly showcased and at an affordable price. Highly recommended! Franck
