Monitor Audio Silver 1 Bookshelf Speaker

The Monitor Audio Silver 1 bookshelf speakers are the most affordable speakers in the Silver range. They comprise a large number of elements and solutions developed by the manufacturer for the GX and Platinium ranges. With the bookshelf format, they can fit into a small space.

The Silver 1 is a two-way speaker. It incorporates the new 25 mm C-CAM® tweeter. It features a new damped chamber to increase the frequency response beyond 35kHz! It delivers a finer and lighter treble. The bass/midrange are handled by a 15 mm RST cone driver. The drivers are not screwed on to the speaker, they are bolted via their motor to the back of the cabinet via a single threaded rod. This 'Single bolt-through' solution wards off vibration and colouration when the driver moves. It uses a bass/reflex tuning port. The port opens onto the back of the cabinet. It is optimised by the Hive ® II port bass-reflex technology. It accelerates the airflow within the cabinet. The bass becomes more vibrant and articulated. The single terminal is of great build quality and accepts large cables and 6 mm banana plugs. The grille is magnetic. The amazing build and assembly quality is an extra asset.

The reproduction delivered has an impressive range and dynamics. The definition is incredible across the entire spectrum. The bass level is amazing considering the size of the speaker. The sound reproduction is not dark, quite the opposite: it boasts excellent brightness without any harshness. When paired with a neutral and vibrant amplifier, you get an impressively subtle and vibrant sound reproduction. It works wonders in a medium-sized room on a stand 30 cm from a wall. A real high-end speaker in a small volume!
