CLEARAUDIO PERFORMANCE DC PACK ARTIST: CHASSIS

We have here the same chassis manufactured in a high density material, with cavities (at strategic places) full of damping beads. The chassis can be found between two aluminium plates. This choice provides a remarkable weight and density to the turntable  and eliminates every last vibration and resonance.

It lies on three massive aluminium cushioned stands which makes it barely affected by what’s beneath.

CLEARAUDIO PERFORMANCE DC PACK ARTIST: PLATTER

The 40 mm thick platter is made out of a resin block (POM). This platter present features like an important density and rigidity as well as a very low resonance frequency.

It goes without saying that it can be used without a platter mat and can have a record clamp as an option, like for example the Clearaudio Concept Clamp.

CLEARAUDIO PERFORMANCE DC PACK ARTIST: DRIVE PRINCIPLE

The Clearaudio Performance DC Pack Artist inherits the new ceramic and bronze bearing (CMB) assisted by magnetic repulsion. This process limits considerably frictions, noise and wear. It allows a completely silent rotation without any noise from the bearing.

The quiet motor is powered by a direct current power supply. It is regulated and stabilised, and its electronic circuit has three oscillators allowing it to change speed with tiny blue LED buttons (33/45/78 rpm). Convenient and efficient!

The Clearaudio Performance DC Pack Artist is equipped as standard with a beautiful and effective aluminium tonearm, the “Satisfy Kardan Black”. This easy to use and adjust tonearm already proved its qualities on several models from the manufacturer.

Moreover, it is easy to pair with most MM  and MC cartridges  on the market. On this version, Clearaudio pair it with the excellent Artist V2 moving magnet cartridge .

CLEARAUDIO PERFORMANCE DC PACK ARTIST: TESTING AND LISTENING

Like all turntables from the manufacturer, it is wonderfully made and its manufacturing tolerances are really low. For example, we especially love the adjustment and finishing qualities.

The setup is very easy and doesn’t require any particular knowledge.

The restitution matches the means used. The quiet operation gives a remarkable transparency to the restitution. The dynamic range is formidable and uniform on the whole spectrum. The bass is very “physical” with a superb articulation and an excellent accuracy. A very detailed mid-range can also be found, which highlights every single detail.

As usual with Clearaudio, the tempo is very pronounced and allows a particularly dynamic listening! Not to mention of course the nuance and finesse when the song asks for it.

The regulation is really effective, it limits greatly the wow level! The restitution is vast and very accurate, in width as well as in depth.

This Performance DC Pack Artist seems to handle all music genres, it excels whether on Pop, Rock, Jazz or even Classical music!

This Clearaudio Performance DC Pack Artist turntable is a true success. Performance offered easily match the price. It’s a great deal!
