The Atoll CD80 SE2 CD playerhas a metal housing and an aluminium front panel available in silver or black. This CD player has 7 regulated power supplies. And these power supplies drive the analogue and digital sections separately. The Atoll CD80 SE2 CD player can play CDs, CD-Rs and MP3 files,
and has a pure CD mechanism fitted onto an anti-resonance body in order to limit jitter as much as possible. Its symmetrical output stages are made up of discrete Class A bipolar components.
It also uses a Wolfson WM8729 DAC (digital-to-analogue converter). It has an RCA stereo analogue output which lets you connect it to an integrated amplifier (e.g. Atoll IN80 SE amplifier) or preamplifier. It also has a coaxial digital S/PDIF output if you wish to add a digital-to-analogue converter (e.g. Atoll DAC100). The CD80 SE2 CD player also displays CD-Text when the CD provides it.
You can also insert a digital card to transform this CD50 SE2 CD player into a digital-to-analogue converter. If you do choose the install this optional digital card, you will also be able to access the USB input and coaxial S/PDIF input or Toslink optical input.
The Atoll CD80 SE2 CD player delivers a rich sound quality, where each and every detail and reproduced with the utmost precision, and the top end of the spectrum is particularly fine.
All Atoll products are manufactured entirely in France, which is unusual enough to be worth a mention! Franck
