Description

The Atoll DAC 100 SE DAC is replaced by the Atoll DAC100 Signature DAC.

The Atoll DAC 100 SE DAC is a digital-to-analogue converter with three coaxial inputs, three optical inputs and one USB input. Both the coaxial and optical inputs can handle resolutions of up to 24 bits/192 kHz, while the USB input accepts resolutions of up to 24 bits/96 kHz. The device also has an RCA stereo output on the left-hand side of the rear panel so that it can be connected to an integrated amplifier.

On the front panel, which is made of brushed anodised aluminium (black or silver), a set of LED lights indicate which input is in operation. This DAC uses Burr Brown PCM 1796 converters as well as two independent transformers, one of which is reserved for analogue audio only. The output stages use discrete components that prevent feedback.

The DAC 100 SE is a triumph of production quality by French company Atoll, which has created a relatively small DAC with the capacity to improve the sound quality of up to 7 digital sources.
