Cyrus 6 DAC integrated amplifier

The Cyrus 6 DAC integrated amplifier is the little brother of the Cyrus 8.2 DAC. It takes up several elements, but simplified to offer a more affordable price.

CYRUS 6 DAC: INPUTS

It has the same inputs as the 8.2 DAC. It also offers 6 analogue inputs (RCA), 2 Toslink SPDIF optical inputs, 2 SPDIF coaxial inputs and an USB input. The resolution of the optical and coaxial inputs is 24 bit/192 kHz and from 16 to 48 bit over 192 kHz in USB.

The USB input does not require driver, it is fully “plug and play” with a PC, MC or laptop.

The Cyrus 6 DAC integrates a high-performance 24/192 DAC. The DAC uses the 32 bits oversampling of the Cyrus DAC XP Signature.

CYRUS 6 DAC: OUTPUTS AND POWER SUPPLY

To these inputs are added 2 “Pre-Out” outputs, a “Zone 2” output and “Bus” input/output for control.

The speaker outputs, as on the major part of the brand’s amplifier over the 20 years, are in BFA format. They are lined, for bi wiring lovers.

The bi wiring output of the 6 DAC delivers no less than 57 W in 6 ohms.

The power supply is generated by two transformers, in order to fully separate the digital control stages from audio and power signals. These are less powerful than the Cyrus 8.2 DAC, but are still of a great quality.

Unlike its big brother, it cannot accept the upgrade of the Cyrus PSX-R2 power supply.

The Cyrus 6 DAC exists for more than 20 years, but has been improved over decades to offer more precision in terms of music and a perfect Hi-Fi speakers control.

As on all Cyrus products, the restitution is defined, clear and precise.

The Cyrus 6 DAC enables neutrality and dynamic. But it remains nuanced and very articulated at the lower end of the spectrum.

The different instruments are perfectly separated and the ensemble enjoys a very spacious sound stage.

We also find the swing and tempo dear to the manufacturer.

Like the Cyrus 8.2 DAC, the Cyrus 6 DAC integrated amp has been designed to serve as the central platform to a very performing and compact Hi-Fi system.

The musicality and performance are present, as always with the British manufacturer. Special mention for the quality of the DAC and digital processing! It really does justice to HD files.
