Cambridge Audio Topaz SR10 V2 Integrated Amplifier

The Cambridge Audio Topaz SR10 V2 amplifier is a revamped version of the Cambridge Audio AM10 amplifier, now boasting an output of 2 x 85W as opposed to the original model’s 2 x 35W! And that’s not the only difference between the two – unlike the AM10, the Cambridge Audio Topaz SR10 V2 also doubles up as a radio tuner. 

On the back panel of the Cambridge Audio SR10 V2 are 3 line inputs and one MM phono input. One of these line inputs can accommodate a source like the Cambridge Audio 351C or 651C CD player. The phono input gives you the option of connecting a vinyl turntable with an MM cartridge. It also features a Rec Out (recording) and Sub out should you wish to add a subwoofer to your setup.

On the right-hand side of the front panel is a 3.5mm jack input for MP3 players, which is automatically selected when an MP3 player is plugged in. If you press the MP3/Aux button, the Cambridge Audio Topaz SR10 V2 integrated amplifier will add 10dB to the existing volume level to compensate for the low output level of MP3 players. The 6.35mm headphone output jack is compatible with a broad range of Hi-Fi headphone models, as the required impedance for headphones ranges from 32 to 600 Ohms. The display screen shows relevant information such as the source selected, the volume level and the tonal/balance levels. If the FM or AM tuner is selected, it will display the radio frequency or the RDS station name. The Cambridge Audio SR10 can be controlled using either the buttons on the front panel or the remote control delivered with the product. It uses an oversized toroidal transformer.

The radio tuner can store up to 10 stations per band (FM and AM). There are 3 modes for selecting a station: the pre-set mode lets you browse through your stored stations, the auto mode will select the previous or following station, and the manual mode lets you scroll manually through all available frequencies. The Menu button lets you adjust the bass, treble and balance using the volume potentiometer. The Cambridge Audio SR10 V2 amplifier gives you the option of either connecting two pairs of speakers or connecting one pair of speakers with 4 terminals for bi-wiring.
