Gone are the days of hidden speakers and HiFi systems concealed in TV cabinets: today, we proudly display our audio equipment and make it a focal point. It is precisely this trend that inspired the creation of LOIA, a young French brand dedicated to HiFi furniture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We had the pleasure of meeting Vincent Abraham, co-founder of LOIA, who kindly granted us an interview. We truly started the project in 2023,&#8221;<\/em> Vincent Abraham tells us.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-cdb0140a6d680e274bb7ce781e509d98\">LOIA: the genesis of a made in France project<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-82ffcfb1de593ef00335481e52b5b065\">The catalyst: rhe vinyl revival<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The idea for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maplatine.com\/fr\/193_loia\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#e72942\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>LOIA<\/strong><\/mark><\/a> was born from an observation shared by the three partners: the vinyl revival has profoundly changed our relationship with HiFi. Vincent Abraham explains this evolution:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p><em><em>&#8220;We sensed there was real demand for furniture to showcase turntables. The vinyl revival, from 2010 onwards, meant we embraced HiFi again. Basically, we stopped hiding speakers, which was the big trend of the 2000s. It&#8217;s a real trend that started for me with vinyl, where we reclaimed an object.&#8221;<\/em><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2086\" height=\"1590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.maplatine.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/LIFESTYLE-CONSOLE-HAUTE-copie.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14336\" style=\"aspect-ratio:16\/9;object-fit:cover\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This observation sparked an ambition: to create furniture that showcases HiFi equipment while meeting technical requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p><em><em>&#8220;It was about asking ourselves: could we have furniture that looks good in your home, that&#8217;s also technical, to house your HiFi equipment in the best conditions?&#8221;<\/em><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-bf3724ca91620f4a0ee775c29e4cb238\">Local manufacturing as a core value<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>From the outset, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.maplatine.com\/fr\/193_loia\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#e72942\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>LOIA<\/strong><\/mark><\/a> team chose French manufacturing. A commitment that wasn&#8217;t straightforward, as Vincent Abraham points out:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p><em><em>&#8220;We also wanted to have a local footprint, meaning we didn&#8217;t want to manufacture on the other side of the world when we had local resources. It&#8217;s not easy today, because we didn&#8217;t want to sell at exorbitant prices either. Vincent Abraham summarises this philosophy:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p><em><em>&#8220;We wanted to make furniture that was aesthetically pleasing to our taste, minimalist but very well finished. We know very well that Made in France often has a reputation for being expensive, but that&#8217;s normal. It needs to remain reasonable for customers. Vincent Abraham details this organisation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p><em><em>&#8220;We have two main materials for our products: steel and wood. The steel is made in France, with French partners who make the structures for us. Charente-Vend\u00e9e has always had a good steel industry base, with suppliers we&#8217;ve known historically through Bo\u00eete Concept.&#8221;<\/em><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For the wood, the team has forged links with the Basque Country:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p><em><em>&#8220;With wood, we work a lot with the Spanish Basque Country and the French Basque Country, given our location in the South-West. They work all the wooden pieces, and we come and assemble the wooden pieces onto the steel. It&#8217;s a material particularly suited to HiFi requirements, as Vincent Abraham explains:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p><em><em>&#8220;Steel is a very dense material that allows for very rigid structures. So indeed, for sound, it&#8217;s ideal. And it also pairs well with wood. We found this solution that allows us to do French manufacturing and have things that technically work well.&#8221;<\/em><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This density translates into substantial weights: La Console Vinyles Acier weighs 34 kg, Le Meuble Digger reaches 48 kg. The steel, that&#8217;s really a big industrial process, we could never do that here. We can go there, we can see. We can also work on runs that can be a bit smaller.
